No. Paint is a single product that dries on top of the surface and tends to peel. A professional coating is a multi-layer system that chemically bonds into the prepared concrete and is built to resist traffic, chemicals, and wear for the long haul. They may look similar going on, but they do not perform alike.
Epoxy is a tough, proven base coat that bonds tight to concrete, which makes it a great indoor workhorse. Polyaspartic is a fast curing, UV-stable coating often used as a topcoat or for outdoor concrete, since it resists yellowing in the sun and gets your floor back in service quickly. Yes, with the right system. Standard epoxy can yellow in constant sun, so for patios and other outdoor concrete we use a UV-stable polyaspartic system made to hold its color outdoors.
It does not have to be. A high-gloss surface can be slick when wet, so we add traction where you need it, either through the texture of a flake finish or an anti-slip additive mixed into the topcoat. This matters most in wet areas and commercial spaces.

In most cases, yes. We grind away contaminants, repair cracks and imperfections, and prep the slab before coating. One honest note: a coating can mask hairline cracks, but it is a finish, not a structural fix, so it will not stop a slab from shifting.
